2 SHOTS FIRED: Trump Nukes ‘Seriously Retarded’ Gov. Walz

President Donald Trump unleashed a blistering Thanksgiving message targeting Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar, using the holiday to escalate his warnings about mass migration, Somali crime, and what he calls the total collapse of leadership in Minnesota. The late-night barrage came just hours after Trump vowed to permanently pause migration from poorer nations following the fatal shooting of a National Guard member in Washington, D.C.

Trump, 79, tore into Walz as a “seriously retarded governor,” accusing him of allowing waves of Somali migrants to overwhelm what he described as a “once great state.” The comments, posted to Truth Social, marked one of Trump’s most aggressive takedowns of Walz to date and reflected growing tensions over Minnesota’s recent surge in violent gang activity.

In his Thanksgiving message, Trump accused Walz of surrendering Minneapolis and surrounding communities to organized Somali gangs. “Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for ‘prey’ as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone,” he wrote.

Trump claimed Walz has done nothing to restore order, adding, “The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both.” Supporters of the president amplified the post across conservative media, arguing that Trump is expressing the anger and fear of Minnesota residents who feel abandoned by their own government.

The former governor of Minnesota and running mate to Kamala Harris during her failed presidential bid, Walz has long drawn criticism from conservatives for his handling of crime, migration, and policing. Trump has repeatedly argued that Walz’s permissive migration policies fueled a demographic and criminal crisis.

Trump also directed fire at Rep. Ilhan Omar, calling her the “worst ‘Congressman/woman’ in our country” and mocking her appearance as “always wrapped in her swaddling hijab.” He then suggested Omar “probably came into the USA illegally,” repeating longstanding claims he and his allies have made about Omar’s immigration history.

Minnesota progressives responded with outrage, while Walz countered Trump’s attack by sarcastically questioning the president’s own health. “Release the MRI results,” Walz wrote on X, referencing Trump’s recent medical checkup, which the president publicly described as “perfect.”

Pro-migration activists staged demonstrations across Minnesota in response to Trump’s comments. Protesters held signs reading “NO HATE NO FEAR” and accused the administration of targeting immigrants to score political points.

Trump’s message came amid fallout from Wednesday’s deadly attack in Washington, D.C., where a 29-year-old Afghan national—resettled under Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome” program—allegedly shot two National Guard members deployed to protect federal sites. One Guardswoman, 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom, died of her injuries. The second soldier remains in critical condition.

According to federal authorities, the suspect had worked with the CIA during the Afghanistan War before entering the United States in 2021. His case has fueled Trump’s renewed push to overhaul migration policy, halt immigration from so-called “third world countries,” and initiate what he calls “reverse migration.”

“Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation,” Trump wrote, tying the shooting directly to what he describes as failed vetting practices under the previous administration.

The president ended his fiery message on a cold note aimed at his political enemies. “Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for — You won’t be here for long!”

The Thanksgiving post marks a significant escalation in Trump’s second-term immigration agenda, pairing emotional appeals with sweeping proposals to aggressively restrict migration, review past admissions, and remove foreign nationals deemed harmful to national security.

With crime spikes in Minnesota, a high-profile terror investigation underway, and mounting pressure from supporters to act, Trump’s message signals that the administration’s immigration crackdown is about to intensify—and that political opponents like Walz and Omar remain in his direct line of fire.
